I approached Sekiro with Dark Souls in mind and was disappointed when it didn't 'feel' like what I had gotten used to with the franchise. I continued to play and as I unlocked skills and explored the world more, I began to figure it out, which is what all Souls-like games are about. Figuring out a pattern; a way of approaching situations. My advice is to avoid comparisons with Dark Souls/Bloodborne and take your time.
